A dream wedding come true
O yeah, dreams do come true...
But wait let us rewind a bit, it was a couple years ago when I have the sweet privilege start a chat with a person whom, I would have not thought for a second be my husband.
So let tell you all about this amazing journey I have been going through
The conversation had struck with the better half over media, little did he know at that time, what I had actually looked like, As time past by the chats begun to brew, yes the suspense was getting to him,.
Couple months and NO I still had not shared my photo or cell number...yes all chats where totally on media. By this time I have learned something about him and that he was patient, and like they say patience is a virtue.
It was now an auspicious time in the Hindu calendar - Diwali...where our first meeting was to be held an awkward moment for both of us, as we were unsure what to expect after months of chats and then a meeting ...
So strict as I am I only allowed him to meet me for 1 hour, YES 1 HOUR, which then I had told him to leave. Lol, not that I did not like him, but like a did mention I am very strict and still is.
You may be wondering what did we think of each other... well I was on my mindset he does not like me.....he, on the other hand, was also on the mindset she does not like me..hahahahhahhahah
Day 1 I was then asked to meet for coffee.....The day went well and smooth...but yes I was a little nervous.. Touring parts of Durban in the day watching the waves hit the shore...Sun is shining bright
This day ended and it was then the next ...
Day 2 I was now asked to go out to lunch, which had ended up with so many laughs.
I was then asked the question, "Will you go out with me" Immediately it struck me, his true gentlemen. Of course, I said, YES in an instant and there it all begun. Magical moments in the month of October...
Days weeks and months went by, we had then learned so much more of each other... which grew and maintained this relationship. If you had to ask me what was the one thing that kept me part of this relationship? We both had the same direction to what we wanted out of this relationship and were willing to work towards it...
As an individual, we learn more about ourselves when you have the right person, partner or even you can call it the best friend by your side, o trust me we have had our fair share of fights.
Relationships are just not about looking pretty, wining and dining, visiting fancy places... but its really about commitment, trust, patience, creating memories, etc.
Fast forward couple years down the line, after eventful years of this bonding relationship... I was taken by a huge surprise..."Which had my family all in the loop...." so yeah now the next level of the relationship was about to begin
A beautiful white dress with blue shoes was presented to me...with a note ... " Put this on and I will meet you in a bit" So here I get all dressed up. Meeting me dashing half... who then blindfolded me before I could leave home...I was very amused by this... then it was time to leave home...
Arrived at the so I thought destination... I was helped to be stepped out of the car,,, still blindfolded... walking me toward. buildings and open-air,,...we then stopped... and I was asked: "Are you ready..."
The blindfold was taken off and there in front of me was the helicopter.... with the pilot standing before me... I was now lost for words .cause I could not believe it...but at the same time mixed emotions...full of smiles...
I then was assisted in the helicopter and we have flown away to a magical forest with a beautiful lake. As the helicopter began to land ... just like to movies OMG... the wind is blowing the trees and just then 3 huge horse is running together ... wow, 2 black ones and 1 white... what an epic moment.
As we approached for lunch, starters had been divine,.. but just before the actual lunch could start... I was then asked the BIG question "Babe you are the queen of my heart will you marry?" Taken by a huge surprise... I then said YES.
I could not believe this was actually happening, the best part both of our families were aware of this day....and I didn't have a clue.
Now it was wedding bells in the air. A year later from the proposal, the wedding took place.
A wedding venue still a topic on all the family members' chat to this day.
Out in an open field, overlooking mountains, with some of the cows scattered here and there...with a slit drizzle and the dew setting in at 10 am... the weather could not be any more perfect...
The wedding commenced on time, everyone looked so amazing traditional dress, in Indian wear. The Pundal set to perfection, the meals were so divine... All that I ever wanted, is what I received on this special day, It took time and patience to wait for the right person to walk into my life and it happened. So both families and friends gathered at the venue ready to witness the wedding...
Long-distance true honesty does work if you put your mind to it,
Sometimes or rather most of the time life gives you choices, you need to make the decision for yourself. If not you may sit back and regret. Therefore you must act and think on your feet this is the only way you can grow from your mistakes and better your future.
In a space of one year, I had changed my city, job, marital status in the space of one year... This has become the reality of life. Expect the unexpected.
